Sizing, Care and Fabric Info

Sizing: Because Bamboo Styles is a retailer that carries several different brand name products, our sizing may sometimes vary. Wherever possible, we have tried to eliminate any confusion by including a sizing chart for the particular product on the order page, and by including any notes that we feel will help you make a well informed decision about your purchase. If, after reading our sizing charts you still have questions, please contact us for further clarification.

Fabrics: It is difficult, if not impossible, to truly know the feel of our fabrics until you have it in your hands. We have attempted to explain each fabric blend on our order pages to help you with your purchase. Use this summary as an additional guide.

100% bamboo rayon - Our lightest fabric. It is extremely soft and has the feel of silk. Pure bamboo is not ideal for retailers or customers who wish to screen print on their shirts.

70% bamboo rayon/30% organic cotton - We use organic cotton in our blends to keep our clothes natural and as healthy for our customers as possible. This blend is heavier than 100% bamboo, but extremely soft. It is ideal for retailers or customers who wish to use screen printing on our shirts. Blending cotton with our bamboo allows us more options to create stylish looks and this blend is typically easier to manufacture than pure bamboo.

Lycra/spandex blends - Lycra/spandex is a stretchy, man made material that we blend with bamboo to give our shirts a slim fit and added structure. It does not drape like typical bamboo or cotton. In using these blends, some of the soft characteristics of bamboo are reduced, but are still more comfortable than the average cotton/lycra/spandex blends currently on the market.

Care of bamboo rayon:
  • We typically advise washing cold and line drying light garments or drying flat for heavier garments. Garment washed products are basically "preshrunk" and may be tumble dried on low. Always follow the laundering directions on the garment label.
  • If you wish to tumble dry your clothing that has not been garment washed first, expect shrinkage of up to 3%.
  • Tumble drying your garments will cause your 100% bamboo shirts to begin losing shape sooner than if you line dry only.
  • Garments may be ironed with low heat. Caution: keep your iron setting no higher than 'synthetic'. Bamboo cannot handle the same degree of heat as a cotton garment. Also, do not steam iron, as spitting may occur and noticable rings will appear until the garment is again washed.
